Is pursuing front-end development a valuable choice in 2024?

I’m planning a career change to transition into front-end (or even full-stack) development and want to assess if this is the right move. My strategy involves mastering several key technologies:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript/TypeScript
  • NodeJS, Docker, React, NextJS

I intend to build a portfolio of 3-5 projects to showcase my capabilities. Will acquiring these skills and demonstrating them in a portfolio be enough to secure a job in the field?

Front-end development offers a robust career path in 2024 when paired with a comprehensive portfolio. In my experience, the combination of mastering key technologies and creating projects that mirror real-world challenges stands out to employers. While technical skills are fundamental, employers also value the ability to solve complex problems and adapt to emerging technologies. Projects that directly address usability and performance issues can elevate a candidate’s profile. Consistent practice, coupled with learning from feedback, has been instrumental in refining the skill set required for a successful transition.

hey, i think frot-end dev remains promising in 2024. using react and nextjs is a solid move, but have u thought about infusing creativity in your projects? what unique user expeerience ideas do u have?

hey, im not sold on front-end losing steam. it’s still all bout mixing art & code. try bending trends in userinteractions and responsive design to show ur flair. small, real-world experiments can be a game-changer for u
