I’ve recently entered several Product Management communities, and I’ve noticed a strong emphasis on frameworks and mental models among Product Managers. While it may be an unpopular opinion, I can’t help but wonder why these frameworks seem to dominate their methodologies. It appears that many PMs rely heavily on these structures to guide their decisions and processes. Is there a reason behind this adherence, and why do more PMs not seem to trust their own instincts and experiences?
hey zack, interesting observation! do you think it might be because frameworks offer a common language or reference point for teams? it’s like having a roadmap, but with flexibility to improvise when necessary. how about you? ever found a balance between instinct and structured frameworks?
