Best places to find a backend developer?

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for advice on where to find good backend developers. My company needs someone skilled in TypeScript and Node.js for a hybrid work setup in Nis.

We’ve tried the usual job boards but haven’t had much luck. Got tons of frontend applicants but barely any for backend. It’s weird!

Any tips on where the quality backend devs hang out online? Are there any special forums or sites I should know about? I’m not an HR person, just trying to help our search.

Should we post on LinkedIn? Or are there better options? Really appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks in advance!

Consider tapping into local tech communities in Nis or nearby cities. Many backend developers prefer networking through meetups, hackathons, or tech conferences. These events often have a higher concentration of skilled professionals than general job boards. Additionally, specialized job platforms like Stack Overflow Jobs or AngelList might yield better results for backend roles. Don’t overlook universities with strong computer science programs; recent graduates or soon-to-graduate students could be excellent candidates for your position. Lastly, partnering with local coding bootcamps that focus on backend technologies could provide access to motivated, newly-trained developers eager to prove themselves in the industry.

have u tried github? lots of backend devs showcase their projects there. u could search for repos using typescript/node.js tags and reach out to contributors. also, check out dev.to or hashnode - theyre popular with backend folks. good luck with ur search!
