Each forum post makes me even less inclined to invest in a FrameWork laptop

  • Persistent problems with noisy cooling, low battery performance, and repeated repair needs are making me question buying a FrameWork device.

hey, i get wht u mean about the noisy cooling and all. has anyone tried tweaking settings or other remedies? im curiouos to know if there are any fixes others found that could rescue its overall performance.

i guess try updating firmware if u havent already. worked for some ppl. to me, the hassle of repairs makes it feel like more risk than reward, but its worth a shot if u dont mind potential ongoing issues.

i tried messin with settings but battery still disappointed me and the fan noise didnt quit after a few tweaks. maybe its best to hold off if tuning it isn’t ur thing atm.

Based on my experience, FrameWork laptops present a unique balance of repairability and performance trade-offs. I encountered similar issues with noisy cooling under load and noticed that battery performance tends to suffer when the device is heavily used. In my view, while their modular design is a plus for maintenance, these performance shortcomings warrant a closer evaluation of one’s priorities. I recommend a comprehensive review of personal usage patterns and performance expectations before making an investment decision.

hey folks, curious if anyone tried tweaking fan controls to quiet things down? maybe a misconfig in the cooling setup is messin with battery life too. any experiance with mods or tweaks that made a difference?
