Is it fair to call yourself a backend developer if you can't manage servers?

I’ve repeatedly messed up my VPS and struggle with server management. Can someone recommend a resource to strengthen my skills in systemctl, Apache setups, and firewall configuration?

The ability to manage servers is a valuable additional skill, but it should not solely define a backend developer. In my experience, server management is a learnable skill and many developers benefit from focusing on code quality and architecture while gradually expanding their system administration skills. Utilizing resources like dedicated online courses and hands-on practice has helped me overcome initial challenges with systemctl and firewall configurations. Emphasizing continuous learning and integrating these skills into your workflow can bridge the gap effectively over time.

i think its ok if you’re still worknig on servr skills; backend is mostly about code but having sysadmin knowldge is a bonus. how do u mix new tool learning with your day-to-day coding?
