I’m trying to get a sense of the current job market. I’ve got 8+ years of experience as a backend and data engineer. For the last 3 years, I’ve been at the same big company.
My setup is pretty sweet right now. I work from home most of the time, only going to the office every couple of months. The work-life balance is good, and my pay is decent for the area - maybe a bit above average.
But I keep hearing scary stuff about how tough the job market is these days. If I decided to quit and look for something new, how hard would it really be?
I’d love to hear some honest opinions. Is it as bad as people say? Or are the horror stories overblown?
market’s not as bad as ppl say for senior devs. ur experience is gold. might take longer to find perfect fit, but good jobs r out there. networking is key. keep ur skills fresh n b patient. don’t jump ship unless its a killer opportunity tho, ur current gig sounds sweet.
