Hey everyone! I just heard some exciting news about Tauri. Apparently, they’re working on a new experimental backend called servo/verso. Has anyone tried it out yet? I’m really curious about how it might change the way we build desktop apps with web technologies. What do you think this could mean for Tauri’s performance and capabilities? If you’ve got any inside info or have played around with it, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Also, do you think this might make Tauri more competitive with other frameworks like Electron?
I’ve been monitoring the servo/verso project for Tauri, and it’s quite promising. The potential for improved performance and resource management is significant. From my experience working with various desktop app frameworks, this could indeed be a substantial leap forward for Tauri. The focus on efficiency might address some of the common pain points developers face with web-based desktop applications. While it’s still experimental, the direction seems aligned with industry demands for lighter, faster applications. It will be interesting to see how this develops and whether it can truly challenge more established frameworks in the long run.
hey folks, servo/verso got me wonderin, has anyone looked into its memry and speed? seems like it might bring neat enhancements but any trade-offs? what types of apps do u think will shine with this backend? curious to hear ur take.
oh man, i’ve been following servo/verso development closely! from what i’ve heard, it’s supposed to be wicked fast and more efficient than the current backend. haven’t tried it myself yet, but i’m stoked to see how it impacts tauri’s performance. could be a game-changer for sure, especially for resource-heavy apps. might even give electron a run for its money!
