What's a fair salary for a frontend developer in Copenhagen?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been working at the same company for almost 5 years since finishing school. My salary has gone up from 38000 to 46000 during this time plus some one-time bonuses here and there.

I’m starting to think I should ask for a bigger raise. But should I? Maybe I’ve been influenced by some of the crazy high salaries I’ve seen people post about here. Is my current pay actually okay?

I work in the Copenhagen area.

Update:
I have a degree in computer science. The salary I mentioned doesn’t include pension. I get 12% pension which brings it to about 51500.

The company has around 400-500 employees.

My main work is in React with a bit of .NET for Sitecore development. In my recent projects I’ve started taking on more of a lead role (though not officially). I coordinate with other dev teams and make sure we’re all moving in the same direction.

What do you think? Is it time to ask for more or am I doing alright?

Based on your experience and responsibilities, it is worth considering a raise.

The typical salary range for frontend developers in Copenhagen is between 450,000 and 600,000 DKK annually. While your current compensation, including the 12% pension, fits within this range, it is on the lower side considering your five years of experience and your growing leadership role.

Your expertise in React and .NET, coupled with your coordination duties, enhances your value. Researching current market conditions and documenting your contributions can strengthen your case for a salary increase.

hey there! have u considered looking at glassdoor or other salary comparison sites? they might give u a better idea of whats normal for copenhagen. also, with your experience and lead-like responsibilities, u could probably ask for more. what kinda growth opportunities does ur company offer? maybe theres room for a promotion?

yo, 46k sounds low for 5 years exp n lead responsibilities. i’d def ask for a bump. market rate in cph is more like 50-60k for ur level. maybe check out some job postings to compare? don’t sell urself short, esp if ur taking on more work. good luck!
